Thank you for your interest in the Dorchester Preschool. The Dorchester Preschool is conveniently located at Neponset Circle in Dorchester. The school is open from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Friday, year round and is fully licensed by the Massachusetts Office of Child Care Services. Our Toddler program includes children from 15 months – 2 years 9 months. Our Preschool program includes children from 2 years 9 months – 6 years. We do not provide transportation at the Center. The Dorchester Preschool shall not discriminate in providing services to children and their families on the basis of race, religion, cultural heritage, political beliefs, martial status, disability or sexual orientation.
Our philosophy and goals are to keep children safe and healthy in an attractive and stimulating environment while providing a program that is individualized to meet each child’s developmental level. Most important is the fact that all of this takes place in an atmosphere in which each child’s needs are put first. Building trust and self-confidence are the goals of interaction between child, caregiver, curriculum and their daily routines such as snack and clean up.
Parent involvement is an important part of our program. All parents are encouraged to actively participate in the centers special events. The teachers will be tracking the progress that your child is making and will send home full reports twice a year. If at anytime you have a question or concern about your child, please know that you are always welcome to come into the school and speak with any of our staff members.
